Narrator - Not responding

As a newcomer to both Mac OS and Narrator, HELP.

I installed this and have had it running for 3 days (on trial). Today for some bizarre reason, It start reading and after about 20 seconds, all I get is a spinning disc. Your program freezes and I have to force-quit.

Any ideas pls.

Re: Narrator - Not responding

That's odd. I haven't had any other reports of that behavior (yet). If you relaunch the application, does that occur again, or does it come right? What about if you restart the computer? Perhaps something else is interfering.

I have tried all of that.

I have tried all of that. I'd like to try a clean install, but can't seem to delete all the (hidden) file. When I 'trash' the application and re-install, something remembers my settings.... Is there an easy way to de-install - or at least find all the hidden file?

I have also deleted the dejal folder from the library folder in my home directory.

I can send a the 'dump' file if needed.

Clean install

You would also need to delete the preference file. It is located in the following path, where "~" means your home folder:

~/Library/Preferences/com.dejal.narrator2.plist

Still no progress. The

Still no progress. The preference file doesn't exist? Even with 'show hidden files' on spotlight could not find anything with narrator or dejal on my system.

I have tried a clean install and still no joy. It works with small amounts of text, but as I add more and more it it just 'hangs'.

There must still be 'hidden files' as even with the clean install, it did not open the usual start-up file - the one that describes 'narrator.

Frustrating! Don't know what to do next!

Re: Still no progress.

The preference file should definitely exist. Did you look in the Library > Preferences folder within your home folder, or the one at the root level? The former is correct.

Anyway, I don't think reinstalling will be helpful; that is unlikely to be the issue.

Can you please send me a sample file that fails, so I can try it myself. You can send via email if you prefer; see the contact page.
