Newest Simon on 10.7.3 - Changes not detected.

Changes are simply not being detected, whether I'm using ftp or http. The preview will show that change has occured, but is never detected.

Do you have a filter to detect changes?

Re: Newest Simon on 10.7.3 - Changes not detected.

Tried with and without filter. Filter that was working with older version of Simon was "Success", "change" and "response text"

Re: Newest Simon on 10.7.3 - Changes not detected.

10.7.3 broke reports, which was fixed in Simon 3.4b1, so it's entirely possible something else was broken.

What service are you using with the Change filter? If it's a Web (HTTP) one, please provide the URL so I can try it (send via email if you prefer).

http://lmtcrew.com/lmtcrew/Crew_Calls/

Tried with http and ftp

Hoping it would detect last modified date for any of the files and notify if that is different, but it's not working.

Re: Newest Simon on 10.7.3 - Changes not detected.

I have the same problem - tried installing Simon 3.4b1 on 10.7.3 to address the problem but I still can't detect when I make changes to the text on my own webpage.

That said I am new to v3 so maybe I am doing something wrong. But I have selected http, entered the correct URL, left filters at default (success/change/response) and no change is detected.

Re: Newest Simon on 10.7.3 - Changes not detected.

Discussion with @organik via email showed that it was working correctly.

One thing to be aware of is that Simon won't detect a change for the first check after you edit a test, since you may have altered the filter settings (don't want to have a false positive). So try changing the site without editing the test, and you'll probably find that it does work.

Re: Newest Simon on 10.7.3 - Changes not detected.

Tried it in the way you suggested, but still no effect. If I add a period or period space to the body of my webpage, the change is not detected, even if I leave the test well alone and add another period. Maybe we should follow up by email? All settings are on their default.

I also tried adding a new test pointing to a newspaper website that updates all the time, and that at least seems to work. So maybe there is something unusual about my set up, although I am referencing a pretty basic index.html page, and the change is obvious enough in the source code view presented by Simon.

Re: Newest Simon on 10.7.3 - Changes not detected.

Sure, let's take it to email; faster turnaround then. (Though I use Simon to notify me of changes in the forums, so I see new posts quite quickly.)

Please email me the URL of the page that's giving you trouble, and I'll try it myself.

Re: Newest Simon on 10.7.3 - Changes not detected.

Dear David, forgive me, I have been busy for a few days -- and now coming back to the issue, it seems that it has taken care of itself (changes are now being detected). I'm not sure what could have been different between my current and earlier efforts (maybe just a system restart?), but I'm happy that it's now working. Thanks anyway for your help and responsiveness.

Thanks for the update. I'm glad it's working fine now.
