Simon 5 is coming soon!
Simon version 5 is currently in beta testing. It is a massive update, introducing a much-requested feature: syncing the Simon data between multiple Macs, plus a Simon Status service, a Link Checker filter, improved Find filter, iMessage and Speak Error notifiers, a new app icon, and much more.
Important: please note that Simon 5 requires a minimum of macOS 10.12 (Sierra), and will be a paid upgrade from Simon 4 after the beta. Purchasers since September 1, 2020 automatically get a version 5 license (that also works in previous versions).
Re: Monitoring a website for changes
Hi Bill,
Just add a Web (HTTP) service and enter its URL. By default a Change filter will be included, which will detect any changes on the page. If you want to narrow it down to a specific portion of the page, e.g. to avoid any dynamic content like ad banners or relative times, you can replace that with a Block filter, or one of the others, depending on your needs.
You can also add notifiers to get alerted of changes; several notifiers are provided, plus you can add more, typically ones that require configuration before use (e.g. email).
If you have any more questions, let me know. I'm happy to help.
Re: Monitoring a website for changes
Thanks!
So the default filter (When Success use filter Change with input Response Text) is what I want?
Re: Monitoring a website for changes
Yes, unless you want to focus the change detection on a specific area as mentioned.
