Introducing Simon 5!

Simon version 5 is now available. It is a massive update, introducing a much-requested feature: syncing the Simon data between multiple Macs, plus a Simon Status service, a Link Checker filter, improved Find filter, iMessage and Speak Error notifiers, a new app icon, and much more.

Important: please note that Simon 5 requires a minimum of macOS 10.12 (Sierra), and is a paid upgrade from Simon 4. Purchasers since September 1, 2020 automatically get a version 5 license (that also works in previous versions).

Read the Simon What's New page for details.

Keep logged in

Hello, maybe nooby question for some of you. Yesterday i have downloaded Simon for the firstime. Running OSX 10.9.5 so have an older version - BUT that is not problem i guess. After one day i was able to set up Test for this webpage The problem is in login to webpage. The test is working for only 10 minutes, after this time it kicks me off and i have to put username and password manually via preview site. Please if you can help me to set up the test correctly it helps me a lot. I am not the coder etc.

If it's help to you -

It's gaming server and i would check if other players are online, everything works fine but for 10 minutes only. :-(

Thanks for your time!

Re: Keep logged in

Hi Jan,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

I've redacted your login and password, since you probably don't want those publicly visible.

To answer your question, try editing your test to look like this, with the appropriate username and password:

Note that the URL is the login page, and it is using the Post method.

The Preview won't show the site logged in, but the HTML source will show it actually is logged in.

Re: Keep logged in

Oh! Thank you for your answer, I`m quite lucky I have done exactly everything described before I read what you wrote .)

You are right, the Test edited like this do the job and keeps me logged in (it can goes repeatedly thru the 5min logouts itself without problem) - but unfortunately the page after login site is my own profile info site - and it's not the desired others users site specified in link, where I would check if the player is online or not.

Login site:
My profile site:
Desired site example:

So not sure if I`m able to set up the Test correctly to check changes on the desired site:

At this time i need to fill up username and password manually via site preview and it works till the server log me out. This is the case if I left in the service tab.

If i follow you instructions above I dont`t need to fill up anything, but as i described there is nothing to check on my profile site in this case.

Is there any way to set up the Test to have benefit from the both?

If i want to visit player site directly it also redirect me to the login site with the same POST method and parametres, but there is some problem. The Test wont recognize that it should log in server to go on desired site, because the adress is slightly difirrent even if it¨s redirected to login site. Please if you can help me to solve the problem i`ll became Simon user (11days left). REDACTED is for you in case.

Re: Keep logged in

One idea that might work is to have two tests: one test as specified above, to log you in, and a second test to check the desired page. Hopefully the second one will benefit from the first one having logged in.
