I have heard that there are quite a few affiliate programs out there that don't allow zero-framed links. I understand that Macfilink uses a framing method to cloak the links (which has its advantages, since visitors can't remove the affiliate ID after visiting the site) but may be against some affiliate programs rules. Does Macfilink use "zero-frame links" or a similar scheme, and if so, is there a way to turn this off in Macfilink? Thanks.

Hi, I am trying to get the Upload to Website sheet to work. I have COPIED all of the information for my website from my FTP program and password manager into Macfilink's Upload to Website sheet. When I click Upload, nothing happens. When I click Cancel all of the information I have entered is cleared. What could I be doing wrong?

My suggestions are:

1. For Macfilink to save the information entered in the Upload to Website sheet even though some of it may be incorrect, and;

2. To give an error message giving at least some indication of what information might be entered wrong instead of just doing nothing.

I've gone through the Macfilink help. One thing I don't quite understand is, what/where is my cloaked link URL?

Let's say I've created a new entry, entered the Title, Description, and Original URL, then gone to the Upload sheet and entered my FTP info, and finally FTP'd the page to my site...so what's the cloaked URL I give to visitors?

I see a field for the original URL, but no cloaked URL to copy and give to visitors.

Let's say I'm an affiliate for JoesGifts.com. If I click the Visit Site button, In Safari's address bar, I see this:

http://www.joesgifts.com/?goto=myaffiliateid

That's obviously not cloaked!

Using Google Chrome or Safari, I downloaded a few files.

When the download is over, I click on the downloaded file and nothing seems to happen.

Turns out the file's content is opened in a Finder window behind the current browser window.

Is there a way to make the Finder window appear on top of the current browser window ? This will save me and many others the extra effort of searching and clicking.

Am hoping this is possible considering the development of FinderFront.

I am exploring Macfilink and it looks good! I have also tried Cloak and Tracker (alternative program) and while it works, it puts a question mark in the generated URL so it still looks like an affiliate link, even though it is much harder for someone to change the link.

In brief layman's language, how does Macfilink work? Does it create a sort of "mirror" of the affiliate page on ones own site?

My question is,

I used Macfilink to upload the generated HTML to my web server, but it went into the / folder, not the www folder that contains my website files.

Using Transmit, I uploaded an affiliate folder to store all my Macfilink files. I then chose "Copy Path" for that affiliate folder in Transmit and pasted the path (ftp://ftp.[domain].com:21//www/affiliate) into Macfilink's Path field in the Upload sheet. However, after choosing Upload, I am still not seeing the Macfilink file in the affiliate folder. Does it take a while for this to appear?

Thank you for FinderFront. One the few things I miss about the classic Mac days was that a mere click on the desktop brought all open Finder windows to the front.

However, one caveat I've found while using FinderFront is that the ability to drag clippings to the desktop no longer works. Try to select some text and drag it to your desktop... nope, nada, zilch.

Am I missing something?

I love to follow simonbot at Twitter to be informed about new entries in your forums. I would be glad to see two tiny enhancements:

A) Could you update the simonbot message "Dejal forum posts just changed" to even offer a link to at least the Dejal forums entry page, or even better, to the forum which has the new post?

B) I would love to see the forum with the newest entry on top of the forums list page, as well as the topic with the newest message on top of each forum topics list page.

In filling in my profile info I used OS 9.x because that is the system I must use for QE 3, but more often I am using the latest version of OSX. I purchased QE several years ago and have been using it sporadically. I encrypted a large number of files and saved them to some CDs a couple of years ago. Today I needed to check some info in some of those files. First, when I tried to open QE, I got a message saying my registration had expired, so I sent in the form to re-register, with my credit card authorizing another $25 payment.
I did not know if that would automatically allow me to use the program again, but this time I tried to open it by clicking on one of the encrypted files on the CD. It listed the options and I selected Auto Decrypt, expecting the password to be requested next. Instead, I got a small error window declaring: Disk is Software Locked.
What does that mean? Is it not decrypting because the re-register info has not been processed? I do not know otherwise how the disk became locked. I opened various files (decrypting them) a number of times over the past months, and there was not problem.
So I have 2 questions: 1) what is the software locking thing and how do I unlock it?, and 2) is the newer QE 4 OSX compatible, and will it decrypt QE 3 files then re-encrypt under QE 4?

My quickencrypt will not completely decrypt my files. It seems to work all right showing that it is decrypting all of them and at the end when the progress bar starts moving acroos it freezes and says unable to decrypt the items. Any suggestions?

No let me rephrase that. Your website lacks certain user friendly items that would make it easy for a normal person to use.

l tried several times to create an account. I kept getting the dreaded input doesn't match image error.

Please explain how an ordinary person is to distinguish between "O" as in the capital form of the letter between "N" and "P" and the number "0" which appears after "9" on my keyboard?

Also, are the letters to be entered as capitals or lower case, why does it matter and if it matters, please put a note to that effect near the entry box. Most forums (I belong to several) don't make a distinction between upper and lower case letters.

Now to your real business. I foolishly installed "BlogAssist" so I could see what it's about. Now that I've seen it, I won't be buying it. Not because it's not a good application, but because it keeps nagging me to buy it while not giving me any other option.

I can't delete it - it says it's running. There is no uninstall instructions - are you so sure of yourself that you think everybody who downloads it is going to fork over the money? Sure I can see nagging for payment, but after nagging a couple of times, offer an alternative - disable it or put a button for uninstall or something.

Also why are you nagging, me? I've not used the software and the only time I pay it any attention is to get rid of the nag screen.

Do a better job.

after many attempts.... memories where lost when my spouse left with the password files for my Quickencrypt 3.2.1 I hope you can help some how? There must be a master password so that I can retrieve these files
