Introducing Simon 5!

Simon version 5 is now available. It is a massive update, introducing a much-requested feature: syncing the Simon data between multiple Macs, plus a Simon Status service, a Link Checker filter, improved Find filter, iMessage and Speak Error notifiers, a new app icon, and much more.

Important: please note that Simon 5 requires a minimum of macOS 10.12 (Sierra), and is a paid upgrade from Simon 4. Purchasers since September 1, 2020 automatically get a version 5 license (that also works in previous versions).

SSH and keys

I'm trying out Simon to see if it will meet my monitoring needs. I want to set up test of SSH and tests using SSH. But in the Security options for SSH it asks for a username and password. I don't have passwords on my boxes. I only use keys for authentication. Does Simon support key-based authentication? If not, are there plans to support this?

Re: SSH and keys

You don't have to use the Username and Password fields if they are not needed. In fact, the provided SSH service doesn't use them.

You can edit the service to see what it does, or change it. It is based on the Port service plug-in, so you can customize it to suit your needs. Or if you need something more complex, you could create a Script-based service.
