Introducing Simon 5!

Simon version 5 is now available. It is a massive update, introducing a much-requested feature: syncing the Simon data between multiple Macs, plus a Simon Status service, a Link Checker filter, improved Find filter, iMessage and Speak Error notifiers, a new app icon, and much more.

Important: please note that Simon 5 requires a minimum of macOS 10.12 (Sierra), and is a paid upgrade from Simon 4. Purchasers since September 1, 2020 automatically get a version 5 license (that also works in previous versions).

Read the Simon What's New page for details.

new notifier window has no scroll bar

I'm surprised the new notifier window still expands beyond the limits of the screen, with no scroll bar, you simply have to alternately close and open sections to work with it. If you have a bunch of notifiers, and a relatively low res monitor, you're out of luck. Am I missing something?

Re: new notifier window has no scroll bar

I assume you're referring to the Edit Notifier window?

On a very small screen, it could take up a lot of the available real estate - the Edit Test window more so, though.

The good news is that I plan to redesign these windows in a future release, so they'll work better on various screen sizes.

notifier window

Thanks for the quick reply - it does take up a lot of space even on my 1400-900 - it just needs is to have a scroll bar when clicking a triangle expands it too far - or, have a green button to autosize -

(I know I used the "just" word - completely bypassing the actual work involved ;> )

Re: notifier window

Yes, redesigning the windows will be a fair bit of work, but worth it. The Edit Test window has grown to the point where it can get crowded vertically even on a 23" display.

Stay tuned to the blog for more information on the planned releases.
