Introducing Simon 5!

Simon version 5 is now available. It is a massive update, introducing a much-requested feature: syncing the Simon data between multiple Macs, plus a Simon Status service, a Link Checker filter, improved Find filter, iMessage and Speak Error notifiers, a new app icon, and much more.

Important: please note that Simon 5 requires a minimum of macOS 10.12 (Sierra), and is a paid upgrade from Simon 4. Purchasers since September 1, 2020 automatically get a version 5 license (that also works in previous versions).

Can Simon run on server and survive reboots and logouts?

Is it possible to run Simon on my Apple Server such that it would start automatically on system reboot and stay up no matter who was or wasn't logged in? If so, how?

thanks,

Mike

Re: Can Simon run on server and survive reboots and logouts?

No, Simon requires a logged in user account. Several of the services only work under a user account — what you can do as a "daemon" is somewhat more limited, so I don't expect that requirement will ever change, though you never know.

Using Login Items is the way to ensure it is automatically launched after logging in.
