Introducing Simon 5!

Simon version 5 is now available. It is a massive update, introducing a much-requested feature: syncing the Simon data between multiple Macs, plus a Simon Status service, a Link Checker filter, improved Find filter, iMessage and Speak Error notifiers, a new app icon, and much more.

Important: please note that Simon 5 requires a minimum of macOS 10.12 (Sierra), and is a paid upgrade from Simon 4. Purchasers since September 1, 2020 automatically get a version 5 license (that also works in previous versions).

In El Capitan, Simon can not identify the registered Twitter account.

Re: In El Capitan, Simon can not identify the registered ...

Yes, this is a known OS bug, one of the ones mentioned in my recent "Apple's neglected OS" blog post. It's a very annoying bug, where Simon's attempt to authorize access to Twitter accounts fails. There's not much I can do to fix this, since it's an OS bug with no workaround that I'm aware of.

I actually have figured out a workaround for this, which I'll blog about soon, and will include in the next Simon release. I'm not sure yet if that will be 4.2.1 or 4.3.
