How do I have several alarms at a fixed time every hour?

Hi, I'd like to have a timer triggered at exactly 10 minutes before the hour every working hour.

I set up one timer in what I thought was the right way the start kept moving around.

So then I supported the project to get the extra timer functionality. I created a timer at 9:50, 10:50, etc.

Unfortunately, the timer start times keep moving around for these timers, too. Further, resetting all timers doesn't reset them to the original times.

This comment seems to ask about the same thing:
https://www.dejal.com/forums/2018/01/10/feature-request-simplified-break...

I'm guessing that the original design was to prevent skipping breaks. However, sometimes I need to keep working (perhaps I'm working with someone on the phone) and a break will have to come at the next hour opportunity.

Is there any way to accomplish this? I'd like just a single timer to be triggered every hour starting at a certain time of the day, say, 8:50am, then one hour later, and so on. Happy to make multiple timers if that's required, too.

Cheers,
André

exclusion options

I would like to have the option of specifying an exclusion in the event that an app is playing, not just when it is foremost.

Sometimes, I might have iTunes uppermost, but not playing anything, and I still want to be reminded via audible alerts that it's time to take a break. In this case, the fact that an app is foremost is not the relevant criterion. Most relevant is whether the app is playing anything.

Not sure if that's possible, but if so, consider this a request!

Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

SMS Notifier

Hi

Sorry if this is old ground but I'm stumped. I have just upgraded to Simon 2.5 and I have just tried to check out the new SMS notifier and I can't find it.

In the New Notifier window I can set up everything from Action to Web, but not SMS. I have attached a screen grab here for your reference.

I took a look in the package contents and I can see it listed there but I don't seem to be able to use it.

I must be missing something obvious, sorry if I am - hope you can help.

Feature request: change details

It would be really helpful for me to be able to see the details of the changes in a watched web page. Right now I can only maximize the Simon window and see one big line.

If you could show the "before" and "after" it would be even better. :)

Can't find the new stuff (S.M.A.R.T. Status, Drive Status, and Pulse services)

I just upgraded to 2.5 from the latest beta, and I can't find the S.M.A.R.T. Status, Drive Status, and Pulse services. Some of the new notifiers aren't present either. Maybe an upgrade issue?

bug in select all?

simon seems much improved since the last time I tried it, thanks for all the hard work. I look forward to even more improvements and "wishlist" items in the future.

I've noticed that in the simon monitor window, if I have lots of tests running (like 45 or so), and I select all of the tests (because, say, I want to pause all the tests), the monitor window becomes very slow/unresponsive and the Simon process starts hitting around 100%. also it seems like the tests stop running and the "next check" column values start incrementing, like "0 seconds elapsed, 1 second elapsed, etc". simon is running on 10.5.6 Server. known issue?

SMS plug-in in 2.5

Hi, I've just downloaded 2.5 and dropped it into the Applications folder replacing the old version.

It starts up and runs with all our old tasks with no problem

We had previously written our own SMS script using Clickatell. We called it SMS and it appears as such on the notifiers list.

Two things, where do I find the new SMS notifier? I can't find it listed, is it maybe conflicting with our own notifier of the same name? The plug-ins folder is empty in ~/Library/Application Support/Dejal/Simon/Plugins

Secondly if I rename our SMS notifier (to avoid confusion with your included one) will I have to go into each task that calls it and update that task or does the name change for the notifier automatically change in any task calling it?

SMS notifier for Simon 2.5?

Hi all,

We're thinking of adding a dedicated SMS notifier plug-in for Simon version 2.5. It is possible to send SMS messages with Simon now, using the Email notifier and sending to your phone number at your wireless carrier, but that isn't obvious, or necessarily easy to set up. A dedicated SMS notifier plug-in would hopefully make this easier and more intuitive.

Finding a suitable SMS gateway service is tricky, but we like the look of Clickatell. However, it is a paid service. In order to use it with Simon, you'd need to sign up for an account on their site, then enter your Clickatell account details in Simon, and you'd be charged by Clickatell for each text message Simon sent.

Does this sound like an acceptable solution? I know people are used to paying for text messages on their cellphones (either for each message or a monthly allowance), so paying when using Simon doesn't seem too unreasonable to me. What do you all think?

I'd like to get feedback on this, either positive or negative, to gauge the level of interest in this solution.

Also, if you know a free SMS gateway service that can be (legally) used from third-party software, please let us know!

Please reply here, or send private feedback if you prefer.
